A developmental edit is an in-depth assessment of your manuscript. This type of edit analyzes characters, plot, structure, dialogue, voice, and pacing. I provide in-line edits and comments using Track Changes, as well as an editorial letter discussing strengths, weaknesses, and areas for improvement. To ensure we're a good fit, I offer a complimentary sample edit of your manuscript.
Developmental Edit
A line edit is a close read of your manuscript at the sentence and paragraph level. I'll focus on wordy or unclear sentences, lingering plot holes, point-of-view shifts, and more. Though this is not a copyedit, I will correct any grammar or spelling errors I catch. A line edit is typically completed after a developmental edit or alongside a copyedit.
Line Edit
Proofreading aims to correct any editorial or typesetting errors not caught during copyediting or introduced during final formatting. Proofreading should occur after developmental and copyediting. I can also proofread covers and promotional materials.

Production Editor
I manage the end-to-end process of creating physical books and e-books, from manuscript acquisition to file submission for printing. In this role, I hire freelance editors and cover designers, edit and proofread manuscripts, covers, and promotional materials, and work closely with authors and cross-functional teams to ensure books go to market on schedule and at the highest quality. I'm currently open to contract, part-time, and full-time positions.
